In family therapy, the whole family meets with the therapist at the same time. It can be particularly useful in assisting with conflict resolution, problem solving, or improving communcation.

Family therapy is slightly different from individual therapy in that it takes the focus off the person who is having a hard time, and looks at how the family can work together as a unit to support each other.

Some of the most common issues dealt with in family therapy are:

New family structure

Sibling rivalry

Parent and child conflict

Substance abuse

Health problems

Mental health issues
